BOTOX®, known as onabotulinum toxin-A, keeps muscles from contracting when it’s injected into the face and other muscles. However, Botox has also been found to be helpful in treating quite a few other dental related conditions such as enhancing results of dental treatments by improving smile asymmetries, facial asymmetries, and reducing pain causes by clenching or grinding.

BOTOX®, can also result in a few side effects. Side effects can include bruising near the injection site for up to a few days after treatment, temporary drooping of the eyelid, and occasional headaches that may last 48 to 72 hours. Another possible side effect is an allergic reaction resulting in swelling or itching at the injection site. Additionally, it is important to note that Botox usually lasts three to six months after treatment. You will generally need fewer Botox treatments over time but results and longevity may differ among people.
JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC injectable gel is an injection which results in lip augmentation and temporarily reduces the appearance of deep wrinkles around the mouth. JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC injectable gel is a hyaluronic acid filler injected into the skin, in order to replenish lost hyaluronic acid. Depending on the filler formulation and at full-correction, it can restore a youthful appearance for 12-24 months.
The most commonly reported side effects for JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC injectable gel are redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discoloration, and itching.
