3 Ways to Maintain Good Oral Health

You obviously care about your dental health, so you’ve made the choice to visit Inspired Dental. But you only see your Dentist and Dental Hygienist once every six months. Here are some tips you can use every day to improve your oral health and make your dental visit more pleasant.

Diet and Hydration

Inspired Dental, Dentist in La Vista, NEFluoridated water, is the best beverage for maintaining good oral health by preventing acid attacks that cause cavities. Sugary snacks should be kept to a minimum. Fruits and veggies are high in water and fiber, they balance sugars which help clean teeth. Milk and dairy products are high in calcium and protein, they strengthen teeth. Meat, poultry, and fish are high in phosphorus and protein, they also help strengthen teeth.

Brush & Floss Daily

Inspired Dental, Dentist in Papillion, NEBrushing and flossing is the cornerstone of good oral health. Brushing twice daily with a soft-bristled brush keeps teeth and gums healthy. Flossing once a day, helps to remove plaque and bacteria from in between your teeth where the toothbrush can’t reach. Insufficient brushing or flossing can lead to plaque which hardens into calculus and tarter which causes gum disease leading to bleeding, tenderness, swelling, and recession. For more information on how to brush, see our website here.

Don’t Miss Out on Dental Insurance Benefits

Use your dental benefits before you lose them!

Use your dental benefits before you lose them!As you know, the end of the year is fast approaching. But what some of our patients don’t know is that most dental benefits do not roll over into the new year. That means your benefits are lost if you don’t use them.

You’ve paid a premium every month for dental insurance, so you have earned those dental benefits. In fact, you could save hundreds of dollars by using your dental benefits before the end of the year. So, to help our patients, we’ve put together a few tips to help you get the most out of your dental insurance this year.

3 Ways to Get the Most Out of Dental Insurance

  1. Get regular dental checkups. Most checkups are covered by insurance at no cost to the patient, so you’ve nothing to lose.
  2. For extensive treatments, you can maximize your benefits by starting treatment in 2016 and completing the remaining treatment in 2017. If you have an annual maximum dental benefit, spreading costs out over 2 years can reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.
  3. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) can be used to pay for dental treatments. You usually have to use the money in an FSA during a calendar year, or lose the money, so consider your dental care as a way to use up any extra dollars. Or, consider investing in an FSA for next year if you know you need an extensive treatment in the future.

We are here to help.  Call 402-932-3317 or stop in and talk to Ana or Steve and they will be happy to call your insurance company on your behalf, see what your remaining benefits are for the year, and help you learn how you can maximize your benefit to lower pocket expenses.

Get the Most Out of Your Dental Insurance

Save Money By Scheduling Before 2016 Ends

Most check-up visits are covered by insurance at no cost to the patient or for a small deductible. If further treatment is required, maximize your benefits by applying your 2016 benefits. Benefits do not carry over to the next year. If a lot of treatment is needed, you may want to do some of the treatment in 2016 and some in in 2017 to maximize your benefits. Our dental health professionals can help you make the best use of your benefits.

Be aware that many patients wait to make appointments until December, causing us to be very busy. If you want to use your 2016 benefits before the year is up, we recommend you make an appointment today.

Candy Buyback Program

We Want Your Candy!

(But its for a good cause.)

We hope you and your kids have a great time collecting candy in the neighborhoods this year! However, the American Dental Association recommends that you reduce children’s temptations to eat candy by not keeping all of your stash. They say, “Have your family pick their favorites and donate the rest.” And we’re here to help you with that with our Candy Buy-Back Program!

We Will Buy Your Candy!

We’ll give you $1 per pound of candy, up to 5 pounds. That’s money your kids can use to buy a new toy instead!

Your Candy Supports Our Troops

In partnership with Operation Gratitude, all candy donations will be shipped overseas to our troops.

Tuesday November 1st from 2 pm – 7 pm

Come by during those hours to take advantage of this program.

Invisalign: Creating a Confident Smile for Adults and Teens

Invisible braces in OmahaA straighter smile with Invisalign will allow for healthier teeth and gums and overall health.  It will also play a significant role in improving your confidence and self-esteem.

Invisalign straightens teeth using a custom-fit series of aligners. The aligners are made through a combination of Dr. Caudillo’s expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology. The aligners are virtually invisible and easy to use.

How it Works

  1. A consultation appointment with Dr. Caudillo will help determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign.  Information regarding the treatment process, costs, insurance, or any other concerns will be discussed.
  2. If Invisalign is right for you, Dr. Caudillo will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth to begin your Invisalign treatment.
  3. About two to three weeks following the consultation appointment, the clear aligners will be delivered for you.  The aligners are worn throughout the day, removing them only to eat or to brush and floss your teeth.
  4. Roughly every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners to gradually and gently shift your teeth into place.
  5. Follow-up appointments to review your progress will be scheduled with Dr. Caudillo approximately every six weeks.
  6. At the end of treatment, you will help maintain your beautiful smile with Invisalign retainers.

Length of treatment is different for every person, average length of treatment is typically 8-16 months, depending on the extent of crowding or spacing present.

Invisalign can fit any budget or lifestyle, call 402-932-3317 or contact us using the form below to set up your consultation appointment today.

Guru: Get to Know Your Dental Health Needs

If you could open your computer and be educated on exactly what went wrong or right with your teeth and how to take the very best care of them in the future?

At the Appointment

Dental Care in La VistaWith Guru, your dental appointment starts out as usual: we take your x-rays and intraoral pictures to see what’s going on and what needs to be treated. Dr. Caudillo will still interpret them for you, pointing out trouble spots that need to be addressed so you can understand why you need the treatments prescribed.

Once Dr. Caudillo has determined your needs and options for treatment, she’ll set Guru to play short 20-30 second videos that will clearly explain what happens during that treatment. The images in this article are all screen shots from Guru videos. With these tools, you’ll be able to make informed decisions about your own dental care.

After the Appointment

Fill Cavities in La Vista, Omaha, PapillionYour Guru files are emailed to you after your appointment is completed so you can look at the same x-rays and other information you had at the office.
