NOVUS® Soft Liner
A NOVUS® Soft Liner is a laboratory cured permanent soft liner. It allows for improved denture retention and comfort with less adjustments. Minimal porosity of the denture allows for less odor and stain. Other great benefits of the liner include less “pop-off” while chewing, greater confidence, resists fungal growth, and less denture glue/adhesive!
Denture relining is a simple and affordable procedure that reshapes the underside of a denture to make it more comfortable against your gums when existing dentures begin to feel loose or uncomfortable. Relines are referred to as “soft” or “hard,” and can be completed either at the office, or in a lab. For hard relines, Dr. Caudillo removes a layer of plastic from the dentures interior surface, and then fills the denture with a putty-like material which conforms to the contours of your mouth creating an accurate impression. The denture is sent to the lab where it is adjusted to the new shape of your gum tissue. This results in maximum contact between the denture and your mouth helping to improve the fit of the denture. For soft relines, Dr. Caudillo will complete the reline chairside at the office. A soft reline is typically a temporary reline that involves relining the denture with a medicated material that helps reduce the inflammation in the gums. This type of reline will typically only last six months before a permanent hard reline or new denture is recommended.
